90 day trial period overhaul?

Ninety-day trial periods may be overhauled by the new Government.

The potential changes would mean that new employees can still be placed on one, but they can challenge their dismissal. A new referee service would be established just to deal with such claims. It is proposed that a referee would hold a short hearing without lawyers and could decide to reinstate the employee to their position or award damages.
